Donnie Darr

Coach

Donnie Darr became just the 10th head coach in the 89-year history of the Ohio State men's golf program when he was hired in June 2009.

"It's a huge honor to be at Ohio State," Darr said at his introductory press conference. "I started coaching in 2001 and everyday I've thought about being the head coach at Ohio State, so it's a tremendous honor and huge responsibility to carry the tradition forward."

During his first season with the Buckeyes, the team gained plenty of experience in a season that brought success to many of the golfers while posting a 70-58-2 tournament record. The Buckeyes posted three runner-up finishes throughout the year, including twice in the final month of competition. Bo Hoag was named to his second-consecutive PING All-Region Team and he joined teammates Brad Smith and Brad Wright as Cleveland Golf/GCAA Scholar All-Americans.
